Two Candidates for Dual AGN in Dwarf-dwarf Galaxy Mergers

چکیده
Dual AGN are important for understanding galaxy-merger-triggered fueling of black holes and hierarchical growth structures. The least explored type dual those associated with mergers two dwarf galaxies. According to observations cosmological simulations, galaxies the most abundant in early Universe galaxy merger rate is dominated by dwarfs. However, these generally too distant be directly observed, low-redshift dwarf-dwarf merger-related notoriously hard find. In this paper, we present first results our large-scale search elusive object candidates mergers. Both objects exhibit tidal features (tails bridges) characteristic mergers/interactions. One apparently a late-stage an separation < 5kpc, while second early-stage interacting having established bridge. have dual, luminous X-ray sources that likely due actively accreting massive holes. Also, both infrared counterparts, colors consistent being AGN. Follow-up will provide us glimpse into key processes govern earliest phases galaxies, their central holes, merger-induced star formation.

Satellite Dwarf Galaxies in a Hierarchical Universe: the Prevalence of Dwarf-dwarf Major Mergers
Mergers are a common phenomenon in hierarchical structure formation, especially for massive galaxies and clusters, but their importance for dwarf galaxies in the Local Group remains poorly understood. We investigate the frequency of major mergers between dwarf galaxies in the Local Group using the ELVIS suite of cosmological zoom-in dissipationless simulations of Milky Wayand M31-like host halo...
متن کاملSagittarius: the Nearest Dwarf Galaxy
We have discovered a new Galactic satellite galaxy in the constellation of Sagittar-ius. The Sagittarius dwarf galaxy subtends an angle of 10 degrees on the sky, lies at a distance of 24 kpc and is comparable in size and luminosity to the largest dwarf spheroidal, Fornax. The new galaxy has many features in common with the other eight Galactic dwarf spheroidal systems: including an extended low...
متن کاملTwo Planetary Nebulae in the Sagittarius Dwarf Galaxy
Two planetary nebulae are shown to belong to the Sagittarius Dwarf Galaxy, on the basis of their radial velocities. This is only the second dwarf spheroidal galaxy, after Fornax, found to contain planetary nebulae. Their existence connrms that this galaxy is at least as massive as the Fornax dwarf spheroidal which has a single planetary nebula, and suggests a mass of a few times 10 7 M. The two...
متن کاملDwarf galaxy formation induced by galaxy interactions
Growing evidence has been accumulated for that some gas-rich dwarf galaxies are formed from material liberated by galaxy collisions and/or mergers. Also, gas-poor dwarf elliptical galaxies are often found in the central regions of clusters of galaxies. These observations suggest strongly that the formation of most dwarf galaxies is linked to galaxy interactions. Therefore, now seems like the ri...
متن کاملDraco, a flawless dwarf galaxy
The Draco dwarf spheroidal galaxy (dSph), with its apparent immense mass to light ratio and compact size, holds many clues to the nature of the enigmatic dark matter. Here we present deep photometric studies of this dwarf galaxy, undertaken with the MegaCam Camera at the Canada-France-hawaii Telescope, the Wide Field Camera at the Isaac Newton Telescope and the Wide-Field and Planetary Camera o...
